
Communication infrastructure and resources encompass a wide variety of activities. The purpose of communication across these activities includes dissemination of research across the scientific community and clinical communities, dissemination of health promotion information to general audiences, outreach and engagement with external groups and communities, and provision of scientific information to public audiences including Congress, patient groups, and news media.
- Conduct robust outreach through NIEHS websites, podcasts, and newsletters.
- Enhance the use of social media and other innovative communication tools to engage with public and scientific communities.
- Develop and evaluate strategies to communicate environmental public health messages to audiences.
- Engage with clinicians, medical societies, and organizations, such as the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and the Community Preventive Services Task Force, to ensure that evidence from environmental health research is integrated into medical and health care standards of practice.
- Engage with communities, patient groups, academic and professional societies, and the public through community forums and other forms of outreach.
